Long ago I joined the "old" WOLF...no patches, no imbalances, just pure
fun. Matches were a blast back when true skill shined without lameness,
cheaters, et al. Great clans ran rampant amongst the four leagues in which
we participated...clans like KiN, CE, DA, CLAW, TroD, FOoM, Kollektiv...the
list goes on. What happened? Well...patches helped (NOT). The massive
influx of players and new clans caused a tremor in our little world of
TFC.
Eventually I came to lead our little pack of wolfies...through all this
"newness". Through that period, I found myself frustrated dealing with
the day-to-day politics of leagues, intra-clan disputes, in-game lameness
(etc), and simply too much of a load for one person to bear sanely. Ultimately,
I retired for about 8 months in order to regain some form of mental stability
(lol...wonder if it worked). Upon my return, I found WOLF inactive as
a clan. In my participations throughout the leagues, I eventually happened
across clan 30+ in both Q3F and TFC. A clan with countless members and
several sub-teams...with no attitude problems...appearing as if they were
truly, and only, having fun. This is the basis for the restructuring and
return of, what I like to call, "The OLD WOLF".

GOALS
- To boldy go where no WOLF has gone
before (wherever that is)
- To have a plethra of members such that
match lineups are never a concern.
- To have ample league participation
such that members do not get bored.
- To have limited "required" times (practices,
etc) in order to avoid overwhelming members.
- To ensure that as many members as possible
have responsibilities within the clan if so desired.
- To ensure that no ONE person has too
many responsibilites.
- To be competitive while ONLY having
fun...regardless of a win or defeat.
- To ensure that all members get a chance
to participate in league action.
- To have inter- and intra-clan harmony.
- To be recognized once again as a clan
that is truly respected and admired.
BOTTOM LINE: To have fun without worries, hassles, and any other forms
of BS.
RULES
- Proudly wear your WOLF tag while properly
representing the clan and your fellow clansfolk in all forums, public
and private (pubs, matches, web forums, irc, etc)...particularly
with regard to WOLF members. This is the MOST IMPORTANT RULE OF ALL!
- Participate when you can...just keep
your clansfolk informed.
- Respect those members who have been
assigned various roles such as league management, defensive and offensive
captains, etc...as these members work hard to help make the clan fun
and competitive. Members in these roles are not selected unless they
show proper leadership traits...so copping an attitude with any of them
is simply not necessary nor effective.
- No cheating nor use of globally-considered
lame tactics (these change as times change).
- During matches (PM included) no MM1
at all! except for "Good Luck" comments prior to. MM1 is only for the
member responsible for the league (or a representative when not present).
- REQUIRED: IRC & RW (yes...with a microphone
too =P)
BOTTOM LINE: Respect, courtesy, and couth.
STRUCTURE
- There will be an overal clan leader and co-leader,
defensive leader and co-leader, offensive leader and co-leader, league coordinator,
and recruiter. These eight members form the COUNCIL...which is responsible for
making the final decisions (majority vote) on any action related to the clan and
its members...admittance into the clan, dismissal from the clan, league
joining/departing, processes, schedules, etc. Tie votes will be decided by
the leader. This structure is similar to what it was in the past with
WOLF...just with more defined roles.
- Each league will have a responsible
member (eg. STA, TFL, OGL, etc). The offensive and defensive captains/leader
are responsible for their respective lineups. The league leader manages
schedules, writeups, etc. He/She has pure autonomy related to that particular
league.
- The overall league leader (currently me) is responsible
for ensuring that the various league leaders are doing they are expected
to, as well as assisting when and where necessary.
- Strategies are developed, written-up,
and posted (forum) separately for offense and defense. The offensive
strat team is comprised of all offensive-captains and the overall offensive
leader. Same for defense. Of course, all members are encouraged to provide
suggestions at any time during strat sessions. Offense can help defense
with strats due to their experiences in-game, and vice versa.
- The recruiter is responsible for all
items related to recruitment (wow...surprised?). He/She will provide
new recruits with all available information regarding membership, locations
for obtaining necessary tools (IRC, RW, etc), and any necessary training.
The recruiter has the final decision as to whether someone is admitted
as a recruit. All recruits will maintain the old WOLF style of tag...[wolf].
The COUNCIL as a whole is responsible for admittance of recruits to
full membership at the suggestion of the recruiter.
- Other roles to be filled/assigned (this
list can always change): Intel (on other clans, maps), PR (to get our
name out to help draw quality new members), Trainer (to help train recruits
as well as existing members on new techniques, etc), and Web-dude (figure
it out =).
BOTTOM LINE: Being organized is better than chaos. Everyone should be
able to help contribute...and no one should have to do everything.
